My favorite vacation rental website is VRBO. I have stayed in VRBO properties 6 times. The main reason I love VRBO is the excellent selection. The website is also super easy to use.

PASTUREis now part of Homeaway. I used to use VRBO, but now that the backend is identical to Homeaway (same account) I use Homeaway. I've booked fabulous places through VRBO including a fabulous Hawaii vacation.

It is owned by HomeAway, a well-known vacation rental website that also operates a few smaller rental websites. VRBO focuses on the total rental of real estate. Thus, almost every rental is a full-space rental; This means that the guests have the entire property (house/apartment) and no shared rooms.

VRBO is specifically designed for vacation rentalsinstead of business trips. It has over 2 million listings around the globe and offers enough space to turn someone else's property into a vacation home. The average property on VRBO is 1,850 square feet with a backyard.
For guests, like any other vacation rental site, you go through hundreds of thousands of accommodation listings, select dates and approve prices. WhileTripAdvisorwidely known for traveler reviews, it now offers the ability to list and book vacation rentals. I have to say the selection is pretty robust. The site jumped in with both feet, capitalizing on its travel-hungry audience and managing to make a big dent in rentals. In fact it is a big player and if you have a vacation rental you need to be listed there too.

I have to say Homeaway is my favorite because it's the site I use the most. I recently booked another rental through Homeaway for next summer. I used to use VRBO but it's now the same site as Homeaway (separate sites but you end up with the same account in the backend). When I'm looking for a place to stay, I often search multiple vacation rental websites, but more often than not, I find what I want on Homeaway and book there.
