Temperatures are monthly averages based on data collected from statewide weather stations from 1991 to 2020 for the US National Centers for Environmental Information.

Temperature range in Florida

An average monthly temperature for the entire state only gives a general impression of Florida's weather. To provide a look at climate variability across Florida, the next table lists, by month, the range of average high and low temperatures recorded across the state.

The temperature range generally follows Florida's geography. At the higher end of the spectrum, the hottest places are in South Florida, while at the lower end of the spectrum, the coolest places are in the Florida Panhandle and along the Northeast Coast.

Pompano Beach, Hialeah, and Miami are among the cities that typically experience the highest daytime temperatures in the state. The lowest daily highs are generally in Pensacola, Panama City, Jacksonville Beach, and Fernandina Beach.

The warmest nights, or the highest average minimum temperatures, typically occur in Key West. Places like Tavernier and Miami also stay warm at night. Nighttime temperatures are often coldest in De Funiak Springs, in Niceville near Fort Walton Beach, and in Fountain, an inland community of Panama City.
